Now you see it, now you don’t

WESTERN Power’s proposed new communications tower will now not be completed until around June 2021, at a site 7km from the Mt Shadforth site first proposed.

A proposed 60m tower on Mohr drive to be built by the end of this year was abandoned following feedback from residents and businesses in the area.

Details of the objections have not been released but it is understood that the likely visual impact on nearby residences was a major concern.

The lattice tower at its new site will be 80m high, and one of three new such facilities to bolster and future-proof Western Power’s communications network in the region.
